Blizzard Localization: Creating immersive experiences for *all* our players with Jordi Macias
Localization goes well beyond the translation and cultural adaptation of content. It’s about making sure that our international players have an immersive experience in their own language. But it’s also about supporting our development teams to build lore and narratives that are firmly grounded in cultural awareness, inclusivity, and respect.
A localization industry veteran with 3 decades of experience. Jordi developed most of his career on the LSP side, leading large teams and complex localization programs. He has been involved in the implementation of cutting-edge technology, like machine translation, since the early days of rules based engines, back at the turn of the century, all the way to leading the MT strategy for a major LSP. His passion for video games led him to join Blizzard Entertainment as the Sr. Director for Global Localization in early 2022.
