With Crowd and Cloud, Who Needs LSPs?
It is widely agreed that crowd localization is a fantastic solution – in certain cases. This presentation will discuss one of those cases: a crowd localization project that used a private cloud on a continuous build of an application with fully automated file management and language review done on the live and working application. While evaluating these localization efforts, the project leaders found no place for traditional language service providers, localization engineers, localization QA, project managers, BDMs, and account managers! Participants will be asked to consider what limitations the crowd localization model has, what issues may have been overlooked, and whether the model can be expanded to other practices. In addition, Stanislav will describe how the private cloud works, how to do translations in a cloud, and the nuances involved in live translation QA.
