Big Data and the Business of Language: What You Can Learn from IBM's Analytics

Monday, 21 March, 2016 - 11:45

Most enterprise translation operations are data rich, yet very little of this data is leveraged to drive business insight. The next generation of enterprise translation services will use analytical systems to optimize linguistic integrated components across the translation supply chain and share data to help consumers and providers improve their operations and assets (TM/MT/HT). This presentation will share, in simple terms, the analytical and visualization systems used by IBM to accomplish all this and more. Based on experiences using an IBM Translation Ops Analytical system, (which monitors linguistic assets like TM, Terms, MT, and HT services simultaneously across 28+ languages), Frank and Saroj will share ways that big data can be put to work to make improvements throughout the supply chain.
