GALA 2020 Cancellation FAQ
Why is GALA cancelling the event?
Given the global nature of our conference and the ongoing COVID-19 related travel bans, self-isolation requirements, and health risks associated with large gatherings, we believe it is in everyone’s best interest to stay home.
What are my registration options?
We are offering delegates three choices vis-à-vis registration:
- Carry forward your initial registration to next year's in-person conference in Dublin in September
- Apply your registration fee toward GALA membership
- Cancel registration for a refund (a $125 administrative fee will apply)
Why am I being charged a cancellation fee?
There are two main reasons for a cancellation fee: 1) there is administrative overhead on cancellation and refund activities, including credit card and wire transfer processing fees and 2) GALA incurs unrecoverable costs based on headcount prior to the conference. This administrative fee aligns with our Cancellation and Substitution Policy.
By when do I need to let you know my plans?
All registered delegates should complete the required form by 10 July 2020. If we do not hear from you by 10 July, we will carry forward your initial registration to the GALA 2021 Conference in Dublin. Invitations to complete this form were sent by email to delegates on 17 June.
