Millions of people leave home every day and travel to a country where they do not speak the local language. Travelers who do not speak any English represent one of the greatest untapped markets for language services. But servicing them needs a whole new approach to user interfaces, user recognition, and user interaction. The smartphone in every traveler's pocket is the starting point for addressing these issues. whym.global has been wrestling with these challenges and will share insight and experience gained while developing an app and highly integrated back-end platforms to meet the needs of travelers.

A software industry veteran, Marcus co-founded InterpretersPortal in 2009.

In 2014 Marcus identified a niche to provide individual travellers with access to professional interpreters, and created whym.global as a specialist LSP addressing the translation needs of travellers anywhere in the World.

He is passionate about supporting the professional, freelance interpreters around the world and delivering to their desks innovative services, based on modern technology, to support their businesses. Through work and location he has, in the past, been proficient in speaking Nepali and Swiss German dialect.
