GALA is now accepting proposals for its next Language of Business conference, to be held in Sevilla, Spain, 22-25 March 2015. The theme of this year’s conference is Embrace Change. Simplify Solutions. To submit a proposal, please see the GALA 2015 Call for Papers.

GALA 2015 will bring together translation and localization industry leaders to explore and discuss evolving trends in areas such as technology strategy and resource management, as well as production-related issues such as quality assurance. GALA conferences are known for their big-picture approach to problem-solving and for cultivating an atmosphere of cooperation and community amongst participants.

GALA has assembled a talented team of language and localization professionals to develop the GALA 2015 program. Led by committee chair Marie Flacassier, the participants of this year’s committee are:

  • Lilian Alves, Owner, LocHouse Translation & DTP, Brazil
  • Diego Bartolomé, CEO, tauyou <language technology>, Spain
  • Juan M. Cardenas, Director of Localization, Hilton Worldwide, USA
  • Marcus Danei, Product Manager, Language Technologies, SAP, Germany
  • Marie Flacassier, COO, BeatBabel, USA (Committee Chair)
  • Vicenta Ten Soriano, Regional Sales Director, SDL, United Kingdom

“We know that GALA conferences are about stepping back, taking stock of where we are, and where we need to go. Change is all around us, and this industry is poised to add so much value to the global economy,” said Marie Flacassier, committee chair. “The key is to keep solutions simple as this complex global digital ecosystem evolves.” The committee welcomes proposals that incorporate the notion of proactive change as it relates to a variety of industry-related subjects.

The conference content will feature a special programming track on the interpreting sector, think! Interpreting, as well as a forum dedicated to issues relevant to the travel, tourism, and hospitality sector. Proposals are sought on these topics, as well as topics of more general interest to translation and localization professionals.
