2nd Translation, Technology and Terminology Conference: meeting point for the translation industry in South-Eastern Europe
This year the TTT (Translation, Technology and Terminology) Conference will take place in Bled, Slovenia on the 23rd and 24th of October, the first edition having been held in Zadar (Croatia) to celebrate the country joining the EU.
The event is the only industry conference in South Eastern Europe and gathers LSPs, industry experts, academics and freelancers from the region and beyond.
Since both translation companies and freelancers will participate in the event, this is your chance to exchange ideas and opinions between two different players who cooperate every day to satisfy the translation needs of their clients.
Thanks to Iolar connections, we were able to gather well-known industry experts at a global level as well as linguists and researchers from the region.
The conference program offers common plenary sessions but also specific tracks: terminology lectures and CAT tools, hands-on presentations, as well as presentations on MT and post-editing and business related issues – so you can choose your agenda according to your own interest and preferences.
Here are some speakers who might draw the attention of GALA members: Joaquim Alves will give his insights on how NOT to run a business, Renato Beninatto and Anne-Marie Colliander Lind will have a talk on industry trends and developments, Stefan Gentz will moderate a panel discussion on MT where Manuel Herranz, Gábor Bessenyei, Mihael Arčan and Jernej Vičič will share their experiences, Tom Venning will have a presentation on conflict management, and Nastja Mulej will talk about lateral thinking. Beyond that, there are several presentations on terminology and language.
Also, industry associations such as GALA, ELIA and EUATC will be present and we are really happy about it since we profoundly believe that sharing ideas can improve and develop our industry and help us overcome common issues we all face every day.
After last year's first conference, TTT has become THE conference in the region: not only people from South Eastern Europe but also from other countries get together to have insights on latest industry trends, meet new peers and discover places and traditions of the charming South Eastern European countries.
Iolar is happy to welcome each of you to the second TTT in Bled!
