To meet ever increasing translation demand and decreasing turnaround time, machine translation and process automation is a must. What are the key success factors? Linguists tend to doubt MT quality, while monolingual users love online MT such as Google Translate or Bing Translator. Each user’s MT needs are different. Even if not perfect, machine translation (MT) is now becoming reliable enough to support the translation industry. As a result, more and more professional translators post-edit the output of an MT system. This leads to large quantities of MT translated data that are transformed into perfect translations by fixing MT errors. Within this process, translators have to deal with repetitive and annoying MT errors as well as with the inability of the MT systems to adapt to new domains and styles. Both aspects have an enormous impact on translators' work.

Neural Machine Translation (NMT) is a hot topic in the language industry. More and more research shows that neural networks outperform the classic Statistical Machine Translation (SMT) techniques, which were the norm in machine translation for the last decade. Some companies are switching to and exploring NMT for their translations.

This ensures content will be localized and that the message will be appropriately transcreated to the target market, improving the chances of product adoption and market acceptance.
