The Interpretation and Translation Conference
Friday, 09 March, 2018 to Saturday, 10 March, 2018
The second interpretation and translation conference is an initiative by the Dutch and Belgian industry associations for interpreters, translators and translation agencies (including VviN, CBTI-BKVT, and Vertalerskoffiehoek), together with the European Commission and the Universities of Antwerp, Utrecht, and Leuven.
Based on the topic “The Language Industry 4.0 - Embracing the future”, the conference wil follow those developments in the translation industry that are closely linked to technological innovations across society as a whole.
This unique two-day event is to be held at the Chassé Theater in Breda on 9 and 10 March 2018. This event will bring together LSPs, translators, interpreters, universities, government buyers and the EU commission from Belgium and the Netherlands for two days of learning and networking with all industry players from our two countries. We are expecting some 750 participants each day, the bulk of which will be translators, but also we are hoping for 150 LSPs.
Over the last few months the organisation has been busy preparing for the conference, with tasks such as searching for a suitable location, drawing up the programme, inviting speakers, designing the Network Café, finding a location for the Networking Dinner and, of course, attracting the necessary sponsors. The (concept) programme is published on our website.
