GALA Hosts Annual Meeting, Negotiations Workshop and Member Activities in Seattle

Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) and its members to
figure prominently at Localization World
Seattle, WA, USA
-- The Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), an international
non-profit association that encourages local communication as an
indispensable component to a global strategy, will host several activities
for localization business owners, founders and entrepreneurs attending the
upcoming Localization World conference.
Building on the success of
nine previous conferences, Localization World comes to Seattle from 17 -
19 October, with pre-conference sessions on 15 - 16 October. On the first
pre-conference day, GALA will host a valuable negotiations and sales
workshop for language technology and service providers. On the second
pre-conference day, GALA will oversee a mergers and acquisition session,
which is back after the popular M&A session at Localization World in
Berlin. "Mergers and Acquisitions Uncovered: How to Succeed at
Integration," will take place 16 October, 1:30 - 3:30PM. Registrations for

GALA
also will hold its annual meeting during the conference, carrying along a
tradition from past Localization World conferences. Representatives from
many of GALA's more than 260 member companies will attend the meeting,
which will take place on 16 October. Details about the GALA 2010 plan will
be presented, and four newly elected board members will be announced.
Other topics will include an update on current activities, membership and
finances as well as interaction and input from members on future
activities.
GALA, a long-time supporter of Localization World, also
will host a group exhibit at the conference. The exhibit will feature six
GALA member companies: Braahmam Net Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Human Science Co.
Ltd., iDisc Information Technologies, SL, JBI Localization, Jonathan Golan
Business Translations, and RusLoc, Ltd. In addition to showing the latest
in services and technologies at their exhibits, the GALA members will host
"Passport to Localization," a new program that encourages attendees to
answer trivia questions and win prizes.
With a theme of Local
Language First!, Localization World will include developers,
practitioners, and corporate and institutional users who will discuss the
world of translation and localization. The program's three concurrent
tracks contain information and discussion about linguistic assets with
case studies from a wide range of applications.
