GALA Announces Call for Candidates: 2007-2008 GALA Board Elections
Globalization and Localization Association
Two GALA Board positions are open for election for the 2007-2008 term.
The
GALA Board is responsible for overall policy and direction of the
association. It has final and complete control over all decisions made by
the association, including the areas of finance, legal matters,
administration, personnel and others. The Board of Directors meets
regularly to discuss the association’s affairs and to make decisions on
its business. The Board also meets at least twice a year in person. Each
Board member participates in at least one association committee and works
on specific association projects. The Board also works with and supervises
the GALA Administrator, who runs the day-to-day affairs of the
association. Board members can be called upon to represent GALA to other
organizations and at industry conferences and meetings around the world.
Individuals
from GALA member companies are invited to submit candidacy for the
opportunity. Candidates should be at the decision-maker level of the
member company. The term of office is for two years -- January 1, 2007
through December 31, 2008. Board members are elected by the majority of
votes cast by GALA member companies (one vote per member company). Results
will be announced at the Annual Meeting at Localization World in Montreal
on October 16, 2006.
