The Globalization and Localization Association is the largest global organization within the industry, providing resources, education, ideas and research to enhance the power and performance of the translation and localization sector. GALA offers two types of membership. Full membership is for companies worldwide who specialize in language and translation services or technologies, including translation companies, localization service providers, globalization consultants, internationalization specialists, and language technology developers. Affiliate membership is offered to companies that touch the language services industry either as buyers of language services or as technology providers that interface with the industry.
The Globalization and Localization Association encourages businesses worldwide to incorporate local communication as an indispensable component to a global strategy. Gaining access to customers across the globe requires a local mindset for all target markets: Communicating locally is necessary to succeed globally. Providers of language services and technologies can expertly guide enterprises around the world in successfully implementing globalization and localization goals.
In addition to educating general business worldwide on the benefits of localization, GALA offers localization professionals the only truly global, non-biased corporate language and translation community. GALA offers platforms—online and in-person—for gathering the global language community together for knowledge sharing and collaboration, giving professionals within our member companies the tools, knowledge and ideas for doing their jobs better.
