23 February | Two Sessions: 9:00 CST (China) & 11:00 EST
From inception to delivery, the translation process involves multiple steps and the participation of numerous linguists and experts to create an accurate, linguistically correct and culturally appropriate translation. Join George Rimalower, President of ISI Translation Services, for a webinar that will identify the steps reputable language services companies take in order to ensure the integrity of a translation project.
This webinar will identify the responsibility of project managers, translators, editors, proofreaders, managers of CAT tools, desktop publishers, and other experts involved in bringing a project to fruition. It is meant for consumers, project managers, freelancers and business owners seeking to gain a greater understanding of the “behind the scenes” makings of a translation project. Participants will come away with a greater understanding of their respective roles and ideas that will foster better communication and opportunities in the process.
The presentation will be engaging and interactive and will use live cases as examples. Translation is not simply a matter of transcribing text from a source language into a target language. From inception to delivery, it is a complex process of multiple steps involving numerous professionals. Linguists and other specialists are tasked to provide accurate, linguistically correct and culturally appropriate translations. The objective is to ensure that translated documents successfully communicate their message to their target audience. This requires numerous steps that, in most instances, remain transparent to the client and end user.
