Vitaly has worked in the translation industry since 2000 and has held positions in translation, project management, HR, technical support and software products design at Advanced International Translations.

Vitaly studied English and Management at the Ukrainian Linguistics and Management Institute.

At the moment, Vitaly works at AIT as Deputy Managing Director in the Software Development field. He participates in the development of such programs as AnyCount, Projetex, Translation Office 3000 and WinLexic.

Vitaly has a lot of interests including logo and web design, American football, shooting, paintball and fitness. His favorite book is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. Vitaly has a wife and a three-and-a-half year old daughter.

I decided to apply for a Board position because the translation industry plays such a big role in my life. I often communicate with translators, translation projects managers, directors of translation agencies.

I see the following assignments for the Board in 2008-2009:

1. Faster website on dedicated server.
2. Better forums for the exchange of ideas and information related to translation industry.
3. Opportunity to make donations on the GALA website.
4. A GALA online store with logo items.
5. On-site trainings, seminars and workshops. Free for members and with fee for non-members. This can be good additional source of income for our association.
6. Podcasts (web radio) with different interesting people from our association. We have so many interesting people in GALA, let's share our experience!
7. Special discounts collection. I think it will be easy to negotiate special discount for GALA members from different companies such as Multilingual, SDL and even Amazon.
8. Redesign of our association logo to better represent GALA association's mission and values.

It is very interesting for me to volunteer for a Board position and be able to help the translation and localization industry.
