Mohamed received his Bachelor's degree in engineering in industrial design
with higher studies in the ergonomics field. He was a design engineer for a
Franco-Egyptian company where he acquired his initial knowledge about
localizing products as well as design from a European perspective. He
studied e-commerce with IBM for one year and worked as a part time
consultant for e-commerce companies in Egypt from 2000-2003

Mohamed joined a North African group of companies as a partner and was a
founding member of eLocalize, a localization company specializing in Middle
Eastern languages. He is also a board member of eLocalize now among the top
companies for services into Middle Eastern and now African languages. He has
6 years of experience in the localization industry.

GALA plays an important role for companies working in the translation, localization and globalization arenas by creating forums to discuss major issues in this field, which can help resolve outstanding problems that might hinder the industry and also to spread knowledge and excellence. It also enables them to make contacts, cooperate and forge links that are mutually fruitful.

GALA holds an influential position in an industry, which is still growing and needs some direction.

It would be a very positive factor if one of the new board members should be representative of a lesser known region like the Middle East and Africa.

A representative from this part of the world could help promote a better understanding of the cultural and the technical differences and possibly bring a new viewpoint. I would be proud to serve as a board member if elected.
