- Laura Brandon is the Managing Director of the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), the largest global organization within the language services industry. Under her stewardship, the association has grown from its initial 15 founding members to more than 265 companies in 45 countries. Laura oversees management of the association, including the annual international Language of Business conference. She also leads development of programming designed for sell-side and buy-side localization professionals including research, education and industry promotion. Laura is active in the association industry as a member of the ASAE International Section and as a volunteer on the ASAE International Programming Committee. She currently serves on the advisory board of the Global Technology and Communication Management program for the University of Washington. She was previously founding member of the advisory board for The Localization Certification Program at CSU Chico 2006-2009. Prior to GALA, Laura worked in non-profit marketing and language instruction. Based in Seattle, USA, she enjoys the arts, outdoor recreation and travel.
