Amsterdam Networking Dinner Re-cap
Daniel Carter
Hopefully I can speak for those that attended and state that I think we
successfully solved the most pressing issues – including mapping out a
plan for Iraq, peace in the middle East, poverty and world hunger, and of
course pricing and efficiency in translation to reduce translation costs,
get localized products to market faster, AND at the same time assure that
translation agencies are more profitable while allowing their staff to be
home for dinner with the kids. If you missed this dinner, we hope you'll
join us for the next Dutch meeting (no date yet, but if you are
interested, contact Daniel Carter at daniel@allcarters.com).
For those from other cities or regions, you might consider arranging an
industry dinner in your area. It's a great way to network with colleagues
and other GALA members in a smaller and more intimate surrounding. Started
a number of years ago by Common Sense Advisory's Don DePalma and Renato
Beninatto, Fusion Dinners are "no host" events. If you know the American
saying "going Dutch" (pay for yourself), it doubly applies to us in the
Netherlands. Thank you to everyone who attended. It was a fun and
interesting dinner and a great way to meet with new and longtime industry
contacts.
