About the Association

Who we are

The Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) is the world's largest association for the language industry. As a non-profit organization, we provide resources, education, knowledge and research for thousands of global companies.

GALA members are companies that specialize in language services or technologies, including translation vendors, localization service providers, interpretation companies, globalization consultants, and language technology developers. A growing portion of GALA members are multinational corporations that buy language services and technologies.

What does GALA do?

GALA's mission is to support our members and the language industry by creating communities, championing standards, sharing knowledge, and advancing technology.

We provide a global, non-biased community for localization professionals, creating a platform for information sharing and collaboration, as well as extensive training and education programs. Our newsletters, webinars, conferences and other networking and knowledge-sharing programs enable language professionals to improve individual and company performance so that they excel in their field.

We actively promote the language services industry as a key component of global business strategy. Our programs educate the general business community about the benefits that professional translation and localization programs bring to global business. At the same time, we provide exposure and access for our member companies to the wider business community.
