Response to last quarter’s question:
What is the greatest barrier to innovation in our industry? “In terms of
innovation in technology, I would say the biggest barrier is a lack of
support for open source standards. This stumbling block often prevents
translation software from fully integrating with content management
systems and workflow automation software. "I would say a close runner-up
is lack of customer buy-in. Understandably, no client wants to be the
guinea pig for a new technology or a new process. However, no new
technology or process is perfect right out of the box, and without some
trial and error, there is no improvement.”
