Message From the Board Q4 2004
Hans Fenstermacher, GALA Board Chair
Dear GALA Members: Welcome to this, the first issue of our rebranded, all-new GALAxy newsletter! With this issue, we will begin bringing you news and views about our industry, our members, and our Association on a quarterly basis.
Thanks to your support, GALA is truly becoming the premier vendor-based, international organization in our industry. 2004 has been a tremendous year for us. Dozens of companies from all over the world have joined as members, adding to our already strong and broad membership base. GALA has participated in most industry events as sponsor, contributor, and/or organizer, and more events are on the horizon (for one, check out the upcoming GALA European event on December 10 in Brussels!).
Our GALA Administrator, Laura Brandon, has brought professional management to our organization this year; we are tremendously grateful for her hard work and creative energy. As you know, this year we also rebranded GALA with a new logo and look, and our website underwent a huge transformation, adding value to our presence in the industry landscape. Phase 2 of our website development is already under way, adding many of the features you have asked us for.
As we head into 2005, we look forward with anticipation to another year of innovation and growth. But we couldn't have come this far without you. Your views and suggestions, most recently at the members' meeting at Localization World in Bonn in June 2004, have constantly helped spur us forward and given us momentum. With two newly elected GALA Board members, we are excited about working with all of you to turn this momentum into action. We will be announcing new initiatives soon, and we hope you will join us in making them successful. In the meantime, don't hesitate to contact any of us Board members with your ideas and suggestions.
Enjoy the newsletter!
Yours,
Hans Fenstermacher
