Message From the Board Q2 2005

As we bring you another information-packed issue of GALAxy, I am delighted to inform you that GALA continues to grow in many ways. Our membership now includes some 160 companies, with top localization product and service providers from all continents of the globe. Thanks to all your support, we are well on our way to becoming the premier supplier-side organization in our industry.
Dear GALA Members:
As we bring you another information-packed
issue of GALAxy, I am delighted to inform you that GALA continues to
grow in many ways. Our membership now includes some 160 companies, with
top localization product and service providers from all continents of
the globe. Thanks to all your support, we are well on our way to
becoming the premier supplier-side organization in our industry.
In the past, when we have queried members about the issues that are most
important to them, the following areas have come up again and again:
•Quality
•Standards
•Pricing
•Localization
Technology
•Regional / Local Chapters
As an
organization, we plan to focus on those areas as we move ahead in 2005
and beyond. In an effort to spearhead strong action by GALA, our
Members' Meeting on May 31 will include extensive discussions in those
areas with you. This will allow you, our members, to contribute your
thinking and direct the Board's initiatives. (If you cannot attend the
Members' Meeting, please contribute your thoughts to our Bulletin Board
before the meeting.) With your input, GALA will take a leadership
position in our industry in these areas whenever feasible and
appropriate; in other cases, we will add our voice and strength behind
other initiatives. Our position continues to be that we must work toward
raising the level of discussion and visibility of the industry as a
whole. In that way, all our member companies will benefit.
If you
have questions, suggestions, comments, we want to hear from you. Please
contact any of the Board members or Laura Brandon, GALA Administrator,
and we will do our best to respond. Please also visit our website and
add your voice to the Bulletin Board or other areas.
