In collaboration with GALA and The Localization Institute, California State University Chico will host a comprehensive educational workshops in Cologne, Germany from 11-15 May 2009.
A three day Localization Certification Program will be followed by a two day Project Management Certification program. These programs are hosted by California State University Chico and produced in collaboration with GALA and The Localization Institute. Participants will learn cutting edge localization skills, get the most recognized certification, and earn ATA credits.
Initiated in early 2006, the Localization Certification Program was developed by industry experts, representing the leading professional associations, publishers, and academic institutions in the field, in response to the growing demand for localization professionals. The program provides a unique educational opportunity to learn and demonstrate competency in the emerging localization and international e-business field.
The localization certification program includes forty-five hours of online coursework on topics such as global website development, cultural adaptation of user interfaces, software internationalization and multilingual content management for global enterprises.After completing the online instruction, participants will attend a three-day intensive workshop where modules on strategies and processes for today’s industry will be presented. The workshop will be followed by a certification exam.
Faculty and experts from the industry will be presenting the latest approaches, tools, and applications and workshop participants will benefit from a substantial number of hours of hands-on software training in localization tools and technologies.In addition to the certification workshop, an advanced in-depth training opportunity in Project Management will provide more in-depth and continued professional development.
