Daniel Nackovski of Across Systems GmbH will provide a demonstration of the Across Language Server as a central platform for authoring assistance on Thursday, June 19, 2008.
After a brief introduction to the features of the Across Language Server this webinar will focus on the new innovative authoring assistant component crossAuthor, which connects the content creation process in applications like FrameMaker, InDesign, XMetal, Arbortext, etc. in an unique way to the translation and terminology memory. By reusing existing sentences and terms in these databases the text is created faster with greater consistency.
Topics to be covered include:
- why a translation memory and terminology database are valuable
- resources that should not only be used by translators, but also by technical writers
- how the integration of the translation environment in the editorial environmentworks, based on the example of crossAuthor for Word
- how easy translation-oriented authoring with an accustomed editor has become due to suitable interfaces
- why efficient translating starts with the composition of the source text
About the presenter
Daniel Nackovski is a Swedish national. He studied International Business at the University of Kristianstad and attained a master´s degree in Strategic Management from the University of Lund. As National Manager USA of across Systems, he advises companies on the practical application of language technology. He is also responsible for the operative management of the US partner network.
