The “Atomic” Localization World in Barcelona, June 2006

This event, organized by MultiLingual Computing and the Localization Institute (in cooperation of GALA), was a big success: over 500 attendees and more than 50 exhibitors took part. GALA in Tokyo

GALA Activities at Localization World Montréal
Next month at Localization World, GALA will host its annual meeting, a member networking cocktail, and the closing session of the conference, including prizes donated by member exhibitors. GALA member companies will also present two valuable panel discussion sessions during the conference – one on business strategies for localization companies, the other on the value of linguistic resources from the vendor perspective. Internationalization & Unicode Conference (IUC 30)

GALA hosted a panel discussion at Localization World Barcelona entitled, ?Vendor Management: Perspectives from the Buyer and the Supplier.?
 
Six students received full scholarships to attend the summer localization certification program at CSU Chico in June.
 
Over 100 GALA member company representatives gathered in Barcelona for the GALA semi-annual member meeting in June.
 
GALA hosted a group exhibit booth of eight member companies during the Localization World Barcelona conference.
 
Dr. Nitish Singh was instrumental in launching the certification program at CSU Chico. The 2006 program, co-certified by GALA and the Localization Institute, issued certificates to 60+ students.
 
25 GALA companies gave away prizes during the closing session at Localization World. Pictured above: Arancha Caballero (GALA Board and TSG) and Mohamed Aly (eLocalize).
 
Spyros Konidaris (Commit) and Claudia Fricke (Pass Engineering) represented their respective companies during the closing session at Localization World Barcelona.
 
Michael Rosenblatt (Lionbridge Technologies) taught a workshop on localization workflow processes, tools and strategies during the CSU Chico certification program.
